British Paediatric Respiratory Society Young Investigator Award
The BPRS Young Investigator Award is an annual award to support the learning of a new clinical or research skill or technique which requires travel outside the applicant’s own NHS region. The award is up to a maximum of £5000. The award is specifically not available to support funding for taught courses, such as in bronchoscopy or sleep studies.
The award is available to doctors, nurses and clinical scientists who have been a member of the BPRS for more than 12 months at the time of their application. Applicants are asked to complete the application form including accurate costings, The successful candidate will be expected to write a report after they had completed their project, and may be asked to present their experience at future BPRS meetings.
Only individuals less than 36 years of age will be eligible. Allowance (pro rata) will be made for those who have had career breaks (such as family commitments, second chance education, long lasting illness or disability).
Please complete the application form (download here) using no smaller than 10 point within the current margins on no more than 4 sides of A4, and send 2 paper copies (and an electronic version) to the BPRS Treasurer accompanied by a curriculum vitae.
The BPRS Research Committee will review applications, and the successful candidate will be informed of the outcome at the Summer Meeting of the Society.
